Tanzanian electricity is complicated and expensive for poor communities like Tloma. Solar power will change their lives and educational opportunities in significant ways.

Tloma Giving has partnered with women in the community to start a program at Tloma Primary School whereby sanitary pads can be made available to young girls going through puberty. These pads are called Salama, which means “safe” in Swahili.

Tloma Giving has purchased a pair of crutches for Zawadiel to help her get around. Now she doesn't depend on others as much.

Tloma Giving sent an emergency shipment of 1,330 kgs of maize and 300 kgs of beans to the school. These staples will be a huge help in providing nutrition for the students for the rest of the school year.

When preschool and kindergarten classes at Tloma Primary School became extremely overcrowded, plans were developed to have some of those students join another school. The proposed school was a good distance away and involved these little ones having to cross a dangerous river during rainy seasons.
